Biographical statement

Since graduating from the University of Queensland in 1999, Daniel has spent a few years each in Japan, Taiwan and Thailand working in language education, international trade and recently in telecommunications. His research attention now is on Cambodia, where he is concerned with development related issues. His main research interest is the socially transformative effect of using information communication technologies, especially mobile phones in rural and poverty afflicted communities. More broadly, he is interested in rural-urban linkages, social networks, communication ecologies, and agency.
