Peter completed his PhD in the Department of Political and Social Change in 2016. His research interests include processes of contemporary state making in Southeast Asian borderlands; governmentality; state theory; the anthropology of development; and ethnography as method. he has extensive experience working as a researcher and public policy specialist for INGO’s, the United Nations and bilateral aid agencies throughout Asia, and in Vietnam in particular.

Peter is currently a Teaching and Research Fellow at the Institute for Social Science Research at the University of Queensland, and a Visiting Fellow at PSC.
