Vietnam in the World – Vietnam Update 2018
The Vietnam Update in 2018 will be held from 12-13 November at the Australian National University, building on more than 25 years of the successful update series.
Forty years after đổi mới, Vietnam has one of the most open economies in the world and is becoming an increasingly significant player in global markets and regional institutions. These developments have had significant implications for social changes within Vietnam, and present new challenges and opportunities for Vietnam in the sub-region, region and international arenas. The Vietnam Update 2018 will examine how global environmental trends, society and culture, international relations and international trade are being shaped by Vietnam and are shaping Vietnam today.
The two-day Update will commence with presentations on important recent developments in Vietnam’s political and economic affairs.
